face shape analyzer
Face Shapes: face shapes analyze by measuring three important parts of your face and analyze their proportions. Here’s how you can do it:
Step 1: Measure Use a mirror and measuring tape (or measuring ruler) and measure:
Forehead width – Measure across the widest part of your forehead (usually from one temple to the other).
Cheekbone width – Measure between the outer edges of your cheekbones.
Jaw width – Measure from the tip of your chin to just below your ear (at the widest point of your jaw), then multiply this figure by two.
Face length – Measure from the center of your forehead where your hairline begins to the tip of your chin.
Step 2: Compare proportions
Now compare your measurements to these common face shapes:
- Oval: The face is longer than the cheekbones and the jawline is a slightly rounded angle.
- Round: The length of the face and the width of the cheekbones are about the same, with a rounded jaw
- Square: All proportions are relatively even, with a strong, angular jaw.
- Heart: The forehead is the widest part, with a narrow chin and high cheekbones.
- Diamond: The cheekbones are the widest; the forehead and jaw are thin.
- Triangle: A wide jawline with a narrow forehead.
- Rectangle: The length of the face is long (longer than wide); the width of the forehead, cheekbones and jaw are.
Step 3: Confirm with a mirror
If you are unclear about the measurements, look in a mirror and draw the shapes of your face with lipstick or a dry-erase marker.
